The mountain resorts managed by Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC) -La Molina, Vall de Núria, Vallter, Espot, Port Ainé and Boí Taüll- are working throughout this year 2022 together with the natural spaces protected by their area of influence - the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park, the Capçaleres del Ter i del Freser Natural Park, the Alt Pirineu Natural Park and the Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park - managed by the Department of Climate Action, Food and Rural Agenda, to enhance, disseminate and promote the values of respect for nature, the environment and knowledge of the natural environment, geology, fauna, flora and local cultural heritage, as well as ensured by a regulation of the uses so that the tourist activity is developed in these spaces and peripheral areas of respectful form with the surroundings.

A commitment that is made one more year where a single line of joint action is established that promotes the use of natural spaces in a respectful way. Framework agreements that generally regulate the relationship between FGC and the Natural Parks for the protection of biodiversity in the environment of mountain resorts as well as for the awareness of visitors to them in the importance of caring for the environment. Along these lines, in 2022 the agreements will be increased and 30 actions will be promoted, a dozen more than in the previous year, 18 of which were executed.

The La Molina mountain resort and the Cadí – Moixeró Natural Park plan to jointly implement seven actions, including the installation of a new viewpoint for landscape observation from the southern summit of La Tosa d'Alp. with the installation of a panoramic table or the development of the actions contemplated in the Plan of Uses of the Tosa through the signaling and adaptation of paths and circuits. It is also planned to draw up a project to adapt a route for people with reduced mobility in the Niu de l'Àliga area.

The Capçaleres del Ter i del Freser Natural Park will carry out a series of actions with the Vall de Núria and Vallter resorts in Ripolles. As for Vall de Núria, among the most relevant actions are the adaptation and improvement of paths surrounding the station, the implementation of an information panel on the rock massif at the Fontalba del Cremallera stop, in the Roc del Dui tunnel point, and the execution of the project written in 2021 on the Mirador de la Vall in the Pic de l'Àliga hostel. In Vallter, it is expected that this year will be executed, among other actions, the arrangement of the section of the road from the station to the Portella de Mentet, the cleaning of channels and banks of the torrent of Morens and the placement of several elements to preserve the environment of the native flora Delphinium montanum and the Oncophorus.

The Port Ainé resort, together with the Alt Pirineu Natural Park, have agreed to install an astronomical viewpoint 200m from the Hotel Port Ainé for the observation of the starry sky and the enhancement of the protection of light quality E1 in the process of approval through a short night itinerary of snowshoes, replacement of all outdoor lighting by amber LED with the same goal and the placement of educational posters of the park and new dining rooms and nest cages to promote the biodiversity of the environment. As has also been the case in recent years, the station and the park are taking part in the 'Mountain Calling' for rubbish collection at the Espot and Port Ainé stations, an action organized in conjunction with the Loser Surfers Association and with the collaboration of the Pallars Sports Association.

Finally, with the only national park in Catalonia, the Espot and Boí Taüll resorts have agreed with the Aigüestortes and Estany de Sant Maurici National Park to carry out various actions. In Boí Taüll, which joined last year in the promotion of natural parks by FGC, it has been proposed to agree, between the technical staff of the park and the mountain station, a new route in the descent off track in the Moró valley to avoid disturbance to the protected fauna present. There will also be training for station staff to make them aware of the park’s natural and cultural assets and provide them with tools to carry out outreach activities among station visitors. Both stations, Espot and Boí Taüll, have collaborated in a project based on the recovery of the historical memory of the park which has resulted in the publication of a book called Mirades al Parc Nacional d'Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici .
